Frodo undertakes the quest to return the Ring to Mordor, accompanied by the rest of the Fellowship: Gandalf the Wizard, the hobbits Merry, Pippin, and Sam, Gimli the Dwarf, Legolas the Elf, Boromir of Gondor, and a tall, mysterious stranger called Strider--as Sauron seeks throughout the world for the Ring in a final bid for domination.
