Discs 5-8. Hero ships: Profiles the battleships, destroyers, aircraft carriers, submarines, and specialized ships. Along with archival footage and interviews, this documentary also includes inspections of the ships' "battle stations," providing combat history and evolving technology of these American ships, often through multiple conflicts, and the indispensable role they played in the defense of the United States.
